DESERT HEAD WRAP

This might be the most serious piece in your kit. However, it might also be the weirdest.

This piece needs a little bit of explaining, but once you understand it, it can unlock a new world. So vibe with me for a second.

This is a gateway to freedom. A lot like what you might hear from the guys who do half tights exclusively.

We set out to make a hybrid head covering that could be worn uniquely by the wearer. Importantly, while it has desert in the name this needed to be a fully alpine minded piece and that means being able to add and reduce coverage easily as the weather changes or a baseball hat was introduced (you can wear the wrap over one).

Once we started working on the Thrash Tee in  Polartec® Delta™ we knew it would be killer for the head wrap idea.

The piece is sick. The tech and functionality are off the charts but they are merely the reasoning and justification for the piece. The real prize is the mad max/dune look you get to flirt with.

01 / MATERIAL

We started with Polartec® Delta™.

Delta™ is an evaporative-cooling fabric developed for high-output use in warm conditions. Rather than treating sweat as something that needs to disappear immediately, the fabric is designed to work with the body’s natural cooling process.

Its construction manages how moisture moves through the textile while maintaining airflow, supporting evaporation and helping reduce the wet cling that develops as conventional fabrics become saturated.

That matters more as the hours add up.

A fabric can feel light and comfortable during the first thirty minutes of a run. The harder problem is what happens several hours later, once sweat has accumulated, output has changed repeatedly, and a the head covering has been on you all day.

We wanted a material for that part of the run.

FRONT PANEL
Single panel, double-layer construction. Seamless across the front for continuous coverage.

BILL
Single panel, double-layer construction. Soft, unstructured brim that can be folded, rolled, or extended.

BACK PANELS
Two single-layer panels joined by a center seam. Extended to cover the neck, with a straight bottom edge.

SIDE TIES
Double-layer straps extending from the base of the back side panels. Allow the head wrap to be secured and adjusted into multiple configurations.
